How to enable ping response on Windows Server 2012 Print this Article
By default Windows Server 2012 firewall blocks ping requests.
To enable please follow the below methods :
1) Go to control panel from Windows charm bar or search for ‘control’. Open ‘Windows Firewall’.
2) Click on ‘Advanced Settings’.
3) Click inbound rules.
4) Find "File and Printer Sharing (Echo Request - ICMPv4-In)" and click enable rule. (if you need IPv6 you will need to enable that too)
